Terms of Service
1. Who we are
CardSniper is a subscription service operated by Ciaran Weston, a sole trader based in England and Wales. You can contact us at westonciaran@gmail.com or by post at 39 Tanhouse Lane, Wokingham, RG41 2RL. By creating an account or subscribing, you enter into a contract with us on these terms.
2. What the service does
CardSniper scans publicly available active listings on eBay (via eBay's official Buy API) for a curated list of popular sports trading cards, estimates a fair-market comparison price for each, and highlights listings that appear to be priced below that estimate. We present these as a feed of potential deals.
Important — this is an information tool, not advice. The "comp" prices and "below market" figures are automated estimates produced by a rules-based algorithm, often derived from other active listings rather than confirmed sold prices. They are frequently wrong, and card values change constantly. Nothing on CardSniper is financial, investment, or purchasing advice, and we do not guarantee that any listing is genuinely underpriced, authentic, accurately described, still available, or a good purchase. You are solely responsible for your own buying decisions and for verifying any listing directly on eBay before purchasing.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use CardSniper. By registering you confirm that you are.
4. Your account
You must provide accurate information, keep your password secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at westonciaran@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
5. Subscription, price and billing
Access to the live deal feed requires a paid subscription (currently £9.99/month, shown at checkout). Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis by our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. We may change pricing on reasonable notice; changes apply to future billing periods, never retroactively.
6. Immediate access and your right to cancel (important)
Because CardSniper is digital content and a service supplied immediately, when you subscribe you expressly request that we begin providing it right away, and you acknowledge that by doing so you lose the statutory 14-day "cooling-off" right to cancel for a refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Accordingly, subscription fees are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law (for example, if the service is faulty or not as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015). This does not affect your statutory rights.
7. Cancelling
You can cancel any time from your Account page, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't provide partial-period refunds (subject to section 6).
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: resell, redistribute or scrape our feed or data; use the service unlawfully or to infringe eBay's or others' rights; attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service; or share your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or misuse the service.
9. Third parties
CardSniper relies on eBay and Stripe. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of eBay Inc. Your use of eBay and any purchase you make there is governed by eBay's own terms; your payment is governed by Stripe's terms. We are not responsible for those third parties, their availability, or the accuracy of data they provide.
10. Availability
We aim to keep the service running but provide it "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee uninterrupted access, that scans run on any particular schedule, or that deals will be found in any period.
11. Our liability
We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, we are not liable for: any purchasing decision you make; the accuracy of price estimates; loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or amounts you pay to third parties such as eBay sellers; or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Changes
We may update the service and these terms. If we make a material change to these terms we'll take reasonable steps to tell you (for example, by email or a notice on the site). Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your own country of residence.
